Okavango
Delta – Botswana
Abu Camp
was the creation of Randall Moore. Over a period of years he
repatriated African elephants mainly from zoos and circuses and returned
them to the wild – eight of these gentle giants are used for
the famous elephant back safaris which are operated on his 160,000
hectare private reserve in western Okavango. The camp is named after
Abu, Randall’s majestic and legendary elephant and star of a
number of films and commercials. Sadly Abu died a few years ago of old age.
Few
safaris can compare with the magical experience of riding among
Africa’s wildlife on the back of an elephant.
