Samburu District – Matthews Mountains – Northern Kenya
Kitich is one
of a small band of owner-operated & hosted camps in Kenya. The
camp is the inspiration of Guilio Bertolli, who left his olive oil
farm in Italy for Africa as a nomadic traveller many years ago and
fortunately settled here in the remote Matthews Mountain range,
an intensely beautiful and rarely visited area of Northern Kenya.
Due to the pristine,
unexplored nature of the area, Guilio prefers to avoid traditional
game drives, taking guests walking in the forest instead, tracking
& stalking elephants & other wildlife, guided by the Samburu
who have walked these paths for hundreds of years.
New to Kitich
are camels – five days of nomadic life on a camel assisted
walking safari through the scenic Mathews Mountain range.
