Kawa Maya is a must on a visit to Malawi – this small exclusive lodge is located on the south-western tip of Likoma Island in the east side of Lake Malawi, close to Mozambique. The island is covered with huge baobabs and surrounded by glorious sandy beaches and rocky coves. Recently refurbished cottages spread out each with a panoramic view of the lake.

Kaya Mawa (‘maybe tomorrow’ in the local Tonga dialect), uses the stunning natural surroundings of beach, rock, island and lake to create a lodge of unique character, imagination and very special ambience. Likoma means ‘beautiful place’ and was named by the first people to settle on the island.
