than 2 hours from Cape Town, the Grootbos Private Nature Reserve
is a 1100hectare hillside sanctuary overlooking the spectacular
Walker Bay. Grootbos is a leading flora & marine reserve. Here
one can enjoy the Cape’s indigenous flora and fascinating
mammal, marine and bird life. The ocean views are
incredible with some wonderful whale-watching from July to December,
peaking in September.
There are 2 exquisite lodges on the private reserve – the original and traditional safari lodge ‘Garden Lodge’ and the newer ‘Forest Lodge’ of contemporary modern design.
