Ruaha National Park – Southern
Tanzania
Ruaha is a hauntingly beautiful and wild landscape
of miombo forest, majestic baobabs, rolling woodlands, hills, river
and plains and possesses a great variety of wildlife including lion,
leopard, cheetah, wild dog, warthog, giraffe, zebra, huge herds
of buffalo & large concentrations of elephant. From Mwagusi
Camp, more than 80 species of animal can be found within 45 minutes
drive from camp.
Chris
Fox, who grew up in the region & has spent a good many years
in the Park, owns and operates Mwagusi Camp which he likes to keep
traditional in style with heavy duty tents, enclosed in thatched
bandas, that blend in with the environment.
Summary:
Accomodating up to 20 guests in old-style luxury safari tents nestling
into the banks of the Mwagusi sand river.

- without the disturbance of other vehicles
Best Time:
June to October when the game is most visible because the grass
is shorter & the animals come to the Great Ruaha River to drink.
