South Luangwa National Park –
Zambia
Norman
Carr built Kapani in 1986 and made it his home until his death in
1997. He had been in the valley for over 50 years. In his time he
earned the international reputation as a tireless conservationist
and was the founding father of photographic walking safaris and the
concept of ‘eco-tourism’. His legacy now continues to
live through his family and the dedicated staff of Norman Carr Safaris
who own and operate Kapani Lodge and the four bush camps situated
in remote areas of the National Park.
Kapani is a luxurious lodge situated on a quiet
lagoon beside the Luangwa River. South Luangwa provides some of
the best gameviewing in southern Africa & is a particularly
good place to view leopard and wild dog. Kapani is the perfect base
to begin and end a walking safari to one or more of the remote bush
camps.
