Masai Mara Reserve – Kenya
The abundance
of wildlife in the Masai Mara is legendary and no safari to Kenya
is complete without some gameviewing here.
Within
the reserve, there are lodges and camps to choose from, but one
which remains small and intimate with excellent guiding is Rekero.
Owned, operated and hosted by Gerard & Rainee Beaton. Gerard
comes from a long line of wildlife naturalists and was himself raised
in the bush in true pioneering style.
The
camp is located on what is recognised as the prime site within the
reserve – close to the confluence of the Mara & Talek
Rivers, ideally situated for the annual migration of the wildebeest. We have a long association with Rekero Camp – our guests have been enjoying Rekero for decades - we rate it as the best tented camp in the Mara.
Summary:
7 luxury guest tents with ensuite bathrooms and safari showers.
Best Time:
Mid December to end of March & June to October.
The wildebeest migration usually occurs in the Masai Mara during
the months of July, August & September.
