Welcome to Malawi
Malawi has always struggled as a safari destination as it does not have the large herds of plains game and guaranteed predator viewing of its neighbours. However, the people of Malawi couldn't be more welcoming and friendly and it does have pockets of excellent gameviewing, along the Shire River for instance from Mvuu Wilderness Lodge in the Liwonde National Park. A few days on the sandy beaches of Lake Malawi, staying at the exquisite Kawa Maya on Likoma Island, is a perfect end to a safari in Malawi or Zambia, and indeed a new development is the link by private charter with western Tanzania –
Greystoke Mahale or Chada Katavi Camps combined with Malawi is an incredible itinerary.
