South Africa – Namibia –
Tanzania
In
1989 Rohan Vos bought a vintage locomotive and some old Edwardian
coaches from South African Railways and set up a steam train company
called Rovos Rail. He set about restoring the rolling stock to their
former glory. When he had finished he had created probably the most
luxurious train in the world.
Today,
many more trains & restored locomotives later, the name Rovos
Rail is synonymous with excellence. The 3 Day Trips between Pretoria
and Cape Town or Durban are the most popular, but for……between
Cape Town and Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. Also a fabulous 9 Day Golfing
Safari in South Africa is increasingly popular.
It
is possible to charter one of the trains for exclusive parties or
special interest expeditions.
Perhaps
the most wonderful train in the world setting off on superb journeys
around one of the most fascinating sub continents on earth. It is
well worth catching a Rovos Rail train.
