Walking Safaris

A walking safari in Africa provides an exciting way to experience unique sights, sounds and smells. Including a walking safari in a bespoke itinerary provides an opportunity for the more active to really feel at one with the bush.

The walking itself is rarely arduous but the opportunity provided to get close to the bush is exhilarating. Safety is, of course, paramount and groups are escorted by an experienced guide and an armed ranger.

Private Guided Walking Safaris

Our private guides lead 4-10 day walking safaris in remote off the beaten track areas of Botswana, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Walking safaris are their particular expertise and often a private tented camp is used as a base – this can be a mobile camp that moves ahead of your walk with a full team of camp staff. Alternatively walks are between permanently sited small camps and lodges.

Camp/Lodge Walking Safaris

Many camps and lodges across Africa have walking safaris as an activity, particularly in Zambia – the birthplace of the walking safari in Africa. This is a gentle walk in the bush for a couple of hours usually in the mornings. Scheduled walking safaris of up to 7 nights duration for a maximum of 6 guests are also an option – walking between camps or using a mobile fly-camp – perfect for individuals or couples looking for an active safari and adventure.
