Long-standing clients of ours from Los Angeles, this couple had taken their first safari with Bushbuck in the 1980s. A private guided journey across Botswana, they had stayed in mobile tented camps. Since then, they have been on 15 safaris during which time there has been the exciting development of luxury lodges across Africa. Now in their eighties, only the best will do.
Although large luxurious lodges are available throughout Africa, which would provide the comfort levels required, our clients did not want to be lost in a crowd. To deliver the ultimate luxury safari experience we advised the careful selection of small extremely comfortable camps and lodges provided by Singita. This company has a collection in stunning locations in South Africa, Tanzania, Rwanda and Zimbabwe, but also has integrity, with a massive 100-year vision for conservation and strong community-based ethics. Their guides are the best guides resident to a camp or lodge in Africa. The wildlife areas they use are private concessions with no other visitors. The ultimate luxury safari experience.
With a particular love of Botswana, and keen to return there, we also suggested using Singita’s Bostwana-based equivalent, Great Plains Conservation.
The two-week safari itinerary took our clients between Singita’s luxury lodges in South Africa and Great Plains Conservations in Botswana. Based between these two destinations, we were still able to keep transfer times to a minimum and we used our knowledge of the individual camps and lodges to match our client’s tastes and preferences exactly. In terms of luxury and in-house guiding, it doesn’t get much better than this.
